Our Early Learning Services have hosted approximately 75 parents of children enrolled in Head Start/Early Head Start for Parent Cafes.
New Board Member Kamilar Moore is a certified nursing assistant with over 20 years of experience, as well as the parent of two children who graduated from Head Start early learning services. We spoke with her about why having a parent representative on the Board is so important and how she hopes to make an impact.
We’ve been awarded grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to serve an additional 316 children and families in Chicago and an additional 73 children and families in Suburban Cook County. As a result of these new awards, Easterseals will serve a total of approximately 1,900 children and families in suburban Cook County and Chicago, an increase of 27 percent.
